Bodog Poker’s Disconnection Protection
Disconnection Protection protects players who are disconnected from the
game server. The player must be fully disconnected from the server. Disconnection Protection will not activate for a player who is still connected but does not act in the time given. Players who are still connected and do not act will Time Out of the hand, their hand will be folded and they will be placed on autofold until they can return to the game.
Disconnection Protection works differently for cash games and tournaments.
Cash Game Disconnection Protection
In a cash game, if a player is disconnected during a hand, the poker software will recognize they are no longer connected. Rather than just folding the player’s hand, the program will create a side pot for them and send their hand to the showdown, allowing them the possibility of winning the amount in the pot at the time they were disconnected.
As Disconnection Protection treats the hand as though the player has gone “All-in”, it will appear as such in the Hand History:
Disconnect
| waitForReconnection (ms) 30000
| 19:39:36
|
Disconnect
| Player given disconnection protection
| 19:40:09
|
All-in
| $0.00
| 19:40:09
|
However, only funds already invested in the pot will be in play. No additional funds are taken from the player.
Tournament Disconnection Protection
A player who suffers a disconnection while playing in a tournament will have extra time added to their hand so they can hopefully reconnect and play the hand out. If the player is unable to reconnect in the extra time given, their hand will be folded and they will be placed on autofold until they can return to the game.
For Sit and Go tournaments, the Tournament Disconnection Protection is available when the tournament is down to four players or less, or all the way through for Heads Up tournaments. The first time TDP is used in a Sit and Go, the player is given 120 seconds; the second time, 60 seconds. No extra time is given if they are disconnected a third time.
For Multi-Table tournaments, the Tournament Disconnection Protection is available only at the final table. The first time, the player gets 240 seconds; the second, 120 seconds; and the third, 60 seconds. No extra time is given if they are disconnected a fourth time.
Tournament Disconnection Protection will appear in a Hand History as “TDP”:
